Last Tuesday was an incredibly entertaining day for four of our SciExcite members, including: Sarah Robinson, Ashley Shayya, Sarah Vollero, and Isha Fazili! We were very excited to be working with a small crowd of 4 young scientists! While we do believe the more the merrier, we absolutely love being able to work one on one with the kids; it's really satisfying to be able to connect with the kids through exciting science activities!
Because March is Green month, we saw it extremely fitting to learn a little bit about plants! We instructed the four young scientists how to build a terrarium, and in the end, they were privileged enough to donate their hard work to the Manlius Library, along with their frog friend, who was named Mr. Funny.
There was even an exciting take-home experiment this week! We sent each scientist home with a baggy consisting of a wet paper towel and a lima bean, and asked them to make a hypothesis about what they think will happen! They predicted the bean will start to grow! I guess we will just have to wait and see...
Although infrequent, Mad Scientists is one of our favorite events because we are able to hang out with some really cool kids that are growing up in the same elementary schools that we did. We always love some nostalgia!
