As if our news about the Gifford Grant wasn't enough, SciExcite has more to share with our followers! We were recently selected as the first high schooler team to participate in the prestigious CNY Community Foundation's The Leadership Classroom, a 9-month long training program, which "through intensive and interactive training sessions with other resident leaders, The Leadership Classroom teaches the practical skills that help make stronger, more effective neighborhood and grassroots leaders."
We are so thrilled for this opportunity, and we'd love to thank Daryl Files for pushing us to apply for it! The workshop meets once a month all year, where we will learn the best ways to run our not-for-profit, write grants, and much more! At the end, we will be provided with a generous grant to get a project going!
We are so thankful for this amazing opportunity, and we can't wait for our first workshop this Saturday!

SciExcite has some very exciting news! In July, the Gifford Foundation approved our grant in order to provide a tech center at Hopeprint! Thanks to the hard work of Alena Zhang and Siddhi Nadkarni, the Gifford Foundation awarded SciExcite a generous grant of $2,900!
As mentioned, we plan to use the money to provide a Technology Center at the Hopeprint house. The grant is going to go primarily towards purchasing a set of Chromebooks, and many other fun accessories!
We are so excited to get this project going, and we'd like to offer a HUGE thank you to the Gifford Foundation for their wonderful donation!

SciExcite had an awesome time showing some Chinese School students the science and coolness (no pun intended) of dry ice! Mill Run Park was such a fun place to play with our dry ice; we dumped the extra cubes into the creek at the end! Thanks to Joe Hughes for some awesome pictures of dry ice in action!
Brad Delans, a math teacher at FM High School, was so kind to offer us the opportunity to bring some fun science to his son's birthday party! We kept the kids at the party entertained with some of our favorite activities involving Dry Ice and Liquid Nitrogen! To conclude our presentation, we poured our extra dry ice into the pool for an awesome and steamy show!
